Musician and flutist Joshua Geisler Influenced by both his education from Berklee College of Music in Boston and the tutelage of many great musical gurus, musician Joshua Geisler found the way to his sound of music from his many trips to the Far East. His sound is a calm change from the raucous barrage of Western Rock-and-Roll. He is also an instrument-maker, a teacher, and much more. Author and Essayist Ned Vizzini Lately, he's been the pride of Park Slope, the neigbhorhood of famed authors, poets, filmmakers, and other assorted varieties of creative people and troublemakers. Well, we've got him on the show for your viewing pleasure. His 100+ essays, reviews, and interesting observations about the odd, interesting, and mundane have been published in the New York Press (urban legend tales, neighborhood characters, junkyard dealers, movie and music reviews, love and life advice, and so on). His latest offering, "Be More Chill" tells a story of how a High School dork becomes cool through the aid of a supercomputer pill that shows him how to be a mack daddy. Karen Davis of Music Group, Boomslang Mount Vernon, New York native (and now Jersey City resident) Karen Davis comes with her merry trio Boomslang to take Prospect Heights, Brooklyn by storm on Friday, May 7th (both on our show, and at Freddy's Backroom on 6th Avenue and Dean Sts.). Boomslang can be described as Heavy Modern Rock with multiple influences and thoughtful lyrics. Emily Brown, Director of the 3rd Annual Brooklyn Alternative Small Press Fair Seven years ago, Park Slope resident Emily Brown founded Spiral Thought magazine, whose focus is to feature emerging writers throughout Brooklyn and the United States. In 2001, keeping in step with the same mission, Brown founded the Brooklyn Alternative Small Press Fair, inviting underground authors, unknown spoken word writers and poets, and small press publications, a chance to showcase their work to the public at large. The fair takes place Sunday, June 6th 2004 at the Stonehouse at J.J. Byrne Park in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Three poets, along with Brown will show highlights of the fair on the season premiere episode of ARTS INSIGHT.

Tasneem Nanji of music group, Jungli Tasneem Nanji of Jungli is born in Canada, from East Africa, is East Indian in descent and is now based in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. With a very worldly background, her interest in different instruments is as varied as her nationalities. This sound is reflected in her music group, Jungli.
